What is colour coated aluminium roll finish
The finishes of color coated aluminum rolls are usually divided into two types: single-sided and double-sided. Single side painting refers to applying organic paint to only one side of the aluminum coil, leaving the other side in its original aluminum color or coated with rust resistant paint. Double-sided painting refers to the application of organic paint to both sides of the aluminum coil to form different or identical colors and patterns.
How to paint color coated aluminum roll
Different paint types correspond to different paint layers.
Paint one side
Generally speaking, single-side painted color coated aluminum roll consists of three layers: primer layer, top coat layer and protective film layer. Primer coat is a base coat of paint, usually 5-10 microns in thickness, applied after the surface of the aluminum coil has been pretreated to enhance adhesion and corrosion resistance. The finish layer is an organic coating of different colors and glossiness on top of the primer layer, which forms the main appearance characteristics of colored coated aluminum rolls, usually with a thickness of 15-25 microns. Protective film layer is on the finish layer, in order to protect the color coated aluminum coil in the process of transportation and use from scratches and pollution and covered by a layer of transparent plastic film, usually thickness is 0.05-0.1 mm.
Double-sided coating
The double painted aluminum roll consists of four layers: primer, top coat, back coat and protective film. The primer and top coat are the same as the single coat, only treated on both sides. The back coat is an organic coating, usually of the same or similar color as the top coat, applied to the back of the aluminum coil for increased overall beauty and weather resistance, and is 5-10 microns in thickness. The protective coating is the same as the single coat, except that it is covered on both sides.
