In the production process of color coated aluminum coils, if the tension is uneven during the colored aluminum coil process, the temperature is improperly controlled and the coating is uneven, the surface will be not flatness, which will indirectly affect the weather resistance of the color coated aluminum coils. Uneven coating thickness

 

The uneven surface of the color coated aluminum coil will cause the coating to be unevenly distributed in the concave and convex parts. The concave part may have a thinner coating and cannot provide sufficient protection. It is easy to be eroded by ultraviolet rays, rain, acid and alkali, etc., causing the paint to peel off.

Stress concentration:

 

The uneven surface of the color coated aluminum coil will cause stress concentration inside the material, which is more likely to crack or deform under temperature changes or external forces, affecting the overall weather resistance.

Accumulation of water and pollutants:

 

If there are pits on the surface of the color-coated aluminum coil, it is easy to accumulate rainwater, dust and other pollutants. The long-term adhesion of these acid and alkali substances will accelerate the aging of the coating and even cause corrosion.

Uneven light reflection:

 

The uneven surface will cause the sunlight and ultraviolet rays to reflect unevenly in local areas. The aging speed of the area with more light will accelerate, resulting in a decrease in overall weather resistance.

Adhesion poor

 

The uneven surface of the color-coated aluminum coil will cause the adhesion of the coating to decrease, and it is easy to produce bubbles or peeling, affecting the performance of the coating.

How to avoid uneven surface of color coated aluminum coils?

 

Strict Material Selection

 

When purchasing aluminum alloy coils, ensure that their thickness, flatness and internal stress are uniform to avoid quality problems of color-coated aluminum coils caused by raw material quality problems

Production Process Control

 

Pretreatment: Eliminate the internal stress of the aluminum coil during pretreatment, and 1-2 technician are always on duty to ensure that the material does not deviate or wrinkle during the unwinding process.

Rolling: When the aluminum coil enters the entrance looper and starts rolling, the gap between the rollers must be controlled to ensure uniform thickness

Coating and curing: When coating the aluminum coil, adjust the coating viscosity to control the coating speed and curing temperature to ensure uniform coating and uniform heating, and avoid deformation of color-coated aluminum coils caused by uneven coating thickness or thermal stress

Recoil: Color-coated aluminum coils need to be gradually cooled after curing, and uniform tension needs to be maintained during reeling to prevent uneven reeling from affecting flatness

Quality inspection

 

After production is completed, sample and manually inspect the flatness and record the data. Unqualified products need to be re-corrected to improve the flatness problem
