Classification And Basic Structure Of Metal Roof Panels

At present, in engineering, various metal roofs are usually distinguished and classified based on the fixing method of metal roof panels. The basic methods commonly used in engineering are as follows:

1. Nailed metal roof system

This type of roof system is relatively common in early applications. The roof panel of this system is fixed to the supporting keel by screws. The connecting screws directly penetrate the roof panel. In order to prevent leakage at the penetration point, connecting screws are generally equipped with special compression washers and waterproof washers, and closed core rivets with rubber pads are also used to fix the panel.

2. Concealed metal roof system

This type of roof system first appeared in Australia, so it is also called Australian style concealed buckle board. Specific board types are equipped with corresponding mounting brackets. During installation, the installation bracket is first fixed to the supporting keel or substrate, and the roof panel and roof panel, as well as the roof panel and bracket, are fixed with concealed clips.

3. Vertical bite edge metal roof system

This type of roof system is usually referred to as a low standing edge vertical locking edge metal roof system. In this article, for the purpose of differentiation, it is called a vertical interlocking edge metal roof system. It is divided into two forms based on the degree of bite: single locking edge and double locking edge. The roof panel is formed by mechanical processing. During installation, the dedicated fasteners are first fixed to the supporting keel, and the adjacent roof panels and connecting fasteners are interlocked with each other. Then, they are locked, shaped, and fixed by mechanical or manual means.

4. Vertical locking edge metal roof system

This type of roof system is commonly referred to as the high vertical edge vertical locking metal roof system, also known as the vertical locking seam lok board. The metal panel is mechanically rolled to form a male and female buckle on both sides. When installing, first connect the dedicated aluminum alloy T-shaped code to the support keel. Then, the roof panel and T-shaped code are interlocked, and finally locked and shaped by mechanical or manual means.

5. Flat lock buckle plate metal roof system

This type of metal plate is generally formed by mechanical stamping or manual cutting. When installing, first fix the dedicated locking fastener on the substrate, and then the four sides of the plate are fixed by interlocking with the locking fastener through folding.
