"Why is the price of color coated aluminum coil from another supplier lower than yours? Why can't you give me this price?" Our customers always raise similar questions when communicating with us about prices. We also wonder why the prices of some suppliers are lower than the market average price when the market price of aluminum ingots is so transparent? There may be some hidden costs behind the low price. How do they get low prices?

Use of Low-Quality Aluminum Substrates
Unstable Alloy Composition:
Recycled aluminum is cheaper than primary aluminum, and using it to produce aluminum substrates can reduce material costs. However, recycled aluminum often contains unstable alloy compositions and more impurities like iron, silicon, and copper. These impurities compromise the mechanical properties of the colored aluminum coil, making it prone to cracking, flaking, and reduced corrosion resistance.
Difficult-to-Remove Impurities:
Recycled aluminum surfaces are often covered with oxidation films and oil contaminants that are hard to clean. Even after degreasing, residues may remain and cause problems during rolling, such as uneven thickness or surface defects (e.g., pinholes and bubbles) after coating. These flaws reduce both the aesthetic appeal and service life of the colored aluminum coil.
Underspecified Thickness:
The thickness of the aluminum substrate is a important factor affecting the price. Some suppliers may use substrates thinner than the customer's specification to save costs, which weakens the strength and durability of the coated aluminum coil
Use of Inferior Paint
Unstable Resin Composition:
To low production costs, some suppliers use inferior paints with unstable resin content. This compromises the adhesion between the coating and the aluminum substrate, leading to the coated aluminum coil issues such as peeling, bubbling, and flaking during use. When it exposure to strong sunlight, moisture, or rain accelerates corrosion, fading, and chalking, significantly reducing the durability and aesthetic quality of the colored aluminum coil
High VOC Content:
Solvents with high levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are cheaper but fail to meet environmental standards. They emit irritating odors and may pose health risks to people.
Expired Paint:
Paints past their shelf life often contain degraded film-forming agents and additives, which affect the coating's adhesion and film integrity. This can result the colored aluminum coil in peeling, blistering, or cracking. Additionally, expired paint may separate, precipitate, or discolor, causing inconsistent colors and large chromatic aberrations on the coated aluminum coil, which compromises visual consistency and decorative effect the quality in the application projects.

Simplified Production Process:
Simplified Coating Process:
Standard coating processes for color coated aluminum coils involve twice-coating and two-baking or thrid-coating and three-baking processing. Some suppliers cut costs by using a once-coating and once-baking processing, which leads to poor coating protection and increased susceptibility to oxidation and corrosion.
Reduced Coating Thickness:
Generally, PE coatings should not be thinner than 20μm and PVDF coatings not thinner than 25μm. Customers will choose coating thickness based on design and environmental conditions. If the supplier applies coatings below the standard or customer-specified thickness to save costs, It will reduce the impact resistance, scratch resistance, weather resistance and color durability of the color coated aluminum coil.
Why don't we choose to do this?
The Competitive prices are easier for color coated aluminum coil suppliers to get orders, but reducing the price of color coated aluminum coils by reducing product quality may save some expenses in the short term, but the frequency of product maintenance increases, the service life is shortened, and the cost performance becomes lower.
Hanchen Metal hopes to be chosen by customers because of high-quality products and valuable services. We are committed to developing long-term and stable cooperative relationships with customers rather than one-time transactions, so we care more about whether the colored aluminum coils we provide can still maintain stable performance in customers' application projects.
Our commitment
Choosing high-quality aluminum substrate
We purchase aluminum substrates from brand aluminum manufacturers and will perform alloy composition testing for each batch of color coated aluminum coils and provide customers with material testing certificates
Choosing high-quality paints:
The brands of paints we use are Nippon, Beckers, Litong, and we have reached a long-term cooperative relationship with AkzoNobel coatings. At the same time, we provide customers with a quality assurance statement
Transparent production process
We welcome customers to visit our factory and production line. Hanchen Metal will arrange a one-to-one salesperson for each customer, and will provide timely feedback to customers with videos and pictures from production to quality testing to packaging and delivery.
